Common Tasks for Volunteers
Common tasks that may be undertaken by volunteers at Kinstone include:
- Customer relations – operating the Gift Shop, greeting visitors, answering questions and providing information
- Cleaning in the Visitor Center such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning bathroom, cleaning kitchen, washing tables, etc.
- Cleaning outdoor buildings (Dragons Keep, Chapel, Sauna, Yurt, Cabin): sweep, dust, general upkeep
- Gardening (planting, weeding, hoeing, digging, insect control, mulching, harvesting, seed saving, composting)
- Landscape Maintenance (push mowing, weed whacking/trimming, pruning, raking, picking up debris, invasive removal, etc)
- Animal Care (cleaning out goat pens, feeding goats, milking goats, trimming goat hooves)
- Earthworks, stone work, moving soil and gravel, maintenance of paths and trails
- Tree care (pruning, clearing/trimming around young trees, fencing, tree protectors)
- Chainsaw work to cut up fallen trees, remove small trees, and trim larger branches from trees
- Office work: filing, book-keeping, data-entry, organizing, copying, printing, and other general office tasks
- Kinstone Gift Shop help: assist with in person sales, managing online orders (fulfillment, shipping, etc), assist with inventory, daily sales reports, etc.
- Marketing and promotion, graphic design, posters and fliers
- Social Media assistance
- Videography / Film making
