Kinstone is a haven of peaceful beauty filled with huge stone circles, standing stones, drystack stone sculpture, natural buildings, planted prairie, a labyrinth, wide open bluff-top horizons and a view of the Mississippi River.
Located outside of Fountain City, Wisconsin, and just over 2 hours southeast of the Minneapolis/Saint Paul airport or 3 hours from Madison, you can enjoy the tranquility of this one-of-a-kind place on a day trip or plan to visit when sojourning in this beautiful region. Visitors find it takes 2 to 3 hours to explore all the features that are spread over 15 acres of this 30-acre property. The Sculpture Garden
Kinstone is a modern megalithic site. “Modern” means it was built recently (began in 2011) and “megalithic” means that it consists of very large stones. You’ll be inspired by the stones, labyrinth, prairie areas, and artfully constructed natural buildings.
Here, you will find several stone circles, a dolmen, chapel, labyrinth, dry-stack stone sculpture, many standing stones, seasonal alignments and more. Every aspect of this environment has been lovingly constructed and arranged with intention and layers of meaning. Being located on the top of a bluff there are amazing views in all directions. Standing here you may feel a tangible connection to both land and sky. The place naturally lends itself to meditation, contemplation, mindfulness, imagination and reflection. Like any work of art, there is always more to see and experience each time you visit.
